Spellbound, New Zealand is locally owned and operated by Pete and Libby Chandler with the help of their wonderful and professional staff.

We Will Not

  • Do spiels by rote, treat you like cattle or hard-sell photographs to you.

We Will

  • Provide a cave experience which is unstuffy, humorous, down to earth, personalised, original, genuine, natural, safe and friendly.

We do not:

  • have vending machines or a souvenir shop.

We do:

  • have fantastic glowworms and beautiful caves.

Spellbound, New Zealand is a family owned company, with 20 years of experience in cave tourism in Waitomo.

It is owned and run by Pete and Libby Chandler, Waitomo, New Zealand. In 2006 Pete was awarded the MNZM (New Zealand order of Merit) for his contribution to tourism in New Zealand.

Spellbound is a Qualmark endorsed activity, Qualmark assesses safety and professional standards in the New Zealand visitor industry. www.qualmark.co.nz

Spellbound is a member of ACKMA (Australasian Cave and Karst Management Ass.) Pete is New Zealand Vice President and has recently been made a life member. http://ackma.org

Spellbound tours take place on private conservation reserves belonging to the Mason family and McDonald's Lime Company.
